HOW RICH IS MY JOURNEY
Jeremias U. Montemayor
January 24, 1923 - June 9, 2002

Atty. Jeremias U. Montemayor, Dean as we call him, was born on January 23, 1923 in Alaminos, Pangasinan. He was married to Nieves Quimson and was blessed with ten children.

He finished AB, Summa Cum Laude in 1948 and LI.B., Magna Cum Laude in 1952 at the Ateneo de Manila University.

He was the founder and president of the Federation of Free Farmers (FFF) and of the Federation of Free Farmers Cooperatives, Inc. He lectured on Socio-Economics problems, Farmers Organizations and Catholic Social Teachings. He was participant and delegate to various conference, colloquia, seminars and dialogues on social, religious, agrarian, labor, political, legal and cultural subjects here and abroad.
Formerly, he was Consultor, and later Member, of the Vatican Council on the Laity (now the Pontifical Council for the Laity) from 1968 to 1975 with Cardinal Karol Wojtyla (now Pope John Paul II). He was Dean of the College of Law of the Ateneo de Manila University, Member of the Presidential Committee that drafted the 1963 Agricultural Land Reform Code, President of the International Catholic Rural Association, Consultant on Workers' Education of the International Labor Organization, Member of the Interim Batasang Pambansa, Minister of State for Agrarian Reform, Vice-President of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines and President Emeritus of National Congress of Farmers Organization.

Dean Montemayor wrote eleven books on the Philippine socio-economic problems, labor, agrarian, and social legislation, agrarian reform, Filipino ideology and Catholic social teaching. The international edition of the book " Catholic Social Teaching" is dedicated to our Foundress, Rev. Mother Deolindis Luza, WCW and the Workers of Christ the Worker. Prior to his death, Dean Montemayor was writing his autobiography "HOW RICH IS MY JOURNEY!"
