From the house of Capitana Remedios R. Razote of Barangay
Baleyadaan, we walked on the dikes between the rice paddies.
Some used boot because of the muddy conditions but the boots
tend to stick to the wet clay. Some of us found it easier
to go bare-footed; it felt good to have the clay oozing between
the toes.

After walking about 1.5 kilometers we approached a cluster
of trees surrounding by rice paddies. To our surprise, some
of the "trees" were really piles of stones. Capitana
said that these structures were the corner posts of the first
chapel of the settlement that eventually became Alaminos.

We went further into the thicket and Capitana pointed to
smaller piles of stones which may have been the alter of the
chapel.
