Barangay Cayucay is 6.10 kilometers northwest of Poblacion with
a land area of 658.9 and population of 1,206 proportionally distributed
to its four sitios (district) including centro. These figures would
have been bigger if its former sitios like barangay Mona, Baleyadaan
and Magsaysay were not separated. It is predominantly an agricultural
barangay although it is one of the coastal barangay of the municipality.
So the principal source of income of the resident is farming and
the rest is fishing and various kind of economic activities. It
has its own barangay high school, elementary and a chapel. It is
located along barangay road going to barangay Mona and Pangapisan
from barangay Magsaysay. (One of the urban barangay). It is accessible
to all kinds of land transportation.
Its catchment barangay are Mona (northwest), Pangapisan (nortwest)
and Baleyadaan (southwest). Its is 100% energized by PANELCO. Resident
draw their water supply from the Alaminos Water District and other
from deep/shallow tube wells. DIGITEL has also extended along this
barangay and hopefully all its sitios will be served by the former
within the planning.
The development proposals are:
Asphalting/concreting of Magsaysay-Cayucay-Mona-Pangapisan road
line.
Repair of the barangay high school and improvement of other educational
facilities.
Alaminos Water District to extend its service to all its sitios.
DIGITEL will likewise expand its service to all its sitios.
