Repair and Expansion of City Hall Building

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT:

Alaminos is a booming commercial city. It is part of Western Pangasinan Growth Center and is generally peaceful due to the absence of crime and drug-related incidents. Thus, Alaminos City provides a healthy business environment, making it a prime commercial target to businessmen and investors.

Also, Alaminos is one of the fastest growing cities throughout the Province of Pangasinan in terms of population. The ever-increasing annual population rate of the City of Alaminos may be considered as a clear indication of a booming socio-economic development This is due to the fact that complementing this population increase is the rapid formation of commercial establishments, particular in the Poblacion and its surrounding barangays, and the expansion of agri-related industries. The latter provides an effective transshipment center for the city's 5 agricultural products.

Alaminos' main attraction, however, is the Hundred Islands. Both foreign and domestic tourists flock to the city to enjoy its sprawling white sand beaches similar to that of Boracay Island.

Businessmen also flock to the city to trade and invest. Neighboring municipalities and provinces, specifically Zambales, get their agricultural and commercial goods from Alaminos. This is because the city is more proximate than other growth centers in the area. The strategicality of the city will further be enhanced when the necessary facilities and amenities are established.

Included in the over-all city infrastructure plan are construction of Agricultural Demonstration Farm Center, Shopping Center/Market, improvement of the current Police and Fire Stations, beautification of the City Plaza and this project, the repair and expansion of the City Hall building. The different plans and programs for Alaminos were made based on the vision of its leaders and advices from officials in the national level.

The projected development of Alaminos City will be made possible due to the dedication of its leaders and the concern and cooperation of its constituents and of kababayans now residing abroad, particularly in the United States of America and in Canada.

PROJECT CONCEPT:

1) An environment-friendly City Hall which will blend with its surrounding landscape.

2) City Hall that would respond to the specific social and cultural needs of Alaminians.

3) A City Hall that will project an air of majesty, elegance and coziness, creating a comfortable sphere for guests and residents.

4) A City Hall building that is strong and resilient enough to withstand geological disturbances and inconsistent geological formations specific to the area.

5) A City Hall structure which would give order, unit and beauty to its surrounding environment.

PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE:

Recent studies show that the City is catching up with Dagupan, Urdaneta and San Carlos Cities in terms of commercial, industrial and financial, investments. Investors and developers have exposed the lucrative side of the city business environment.

Being the prime tourism and commercial center of Western Pangasinan, Alaminos should respond to a new demand for adequate infrastructure, most important of which is a City Hall. This is so because, it is the administrative center of the Local Government Unit. An inadequate City Hall would result to a limited delivery of basic services to the LGU's constituents, thereby hampering the flow of commerce and trade.

The proposed City Hall will undoubtedly repaint the rural and rustic landscape of the Alaminos. When fully implemented, the proposed repair and expansion of the City Hall will add new vigor to the socio-economic and tourism development of the City
