FOREWORD
Beloved constituents, I am greatly honored and happy present
to you the updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan of our Town,
Alaminos. This plan carries some of the important features
of the previous one. The 1992-2004 Land Use Plan represent
the sum total of all changes, problems, issues/concerns, strategies,
plans and programs to enhance the economic, social, educational,
cultural and moral/spiritual development of our people within
the planning period. It embodies the aspiration and vision
on a new Alaminos “THAT BY THE YEAR 2000 ALAMINOS WILL
HAVE ITS PEOPLE AS UNITED ECCLESIAL COMMUNITY IN WHICH THEY
HAVE IN WHICH THEY HAVE A BALANCED NATURE TO SUPPORT A HIGHLY
INDUSTRIALIZED, COMMERCIALIZED AND PROGRESSIVE CITY.”
These various issues/concerns and opportunities necessitate
the immediate re-planning and approving a Land Use Plan with
the end in view of improving the quality of life of our people.
Likewise, it shows the immediate past, existing situations
and the approximation of the future/projected situations based
on trends and interventions.
This document which was prepared by Municipal Planning Team
with technical assistance of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory
Board, Region I in accordance with the planning guidelines
and standards is based on reports, data, plans and recommendations
of the different heads of offices of the Local Government
Units assigned to specific aspect of our development, and
is, therefore a reassurance to our people that positive efforts
are being undertaken and continuously being exerted and fulfill
the present and future needs of a city bound municipality.
However, let us remember that there are no perfect plans,
no matter how good the plans are, its realization e united
efforts of all concerned/sectors in the municipality.
As we endeavor to ensure that this plan is a realistic and
operative, attuned to the needs and circumstances of the times
and considering the unabated urbanization of our town, same
shall be reviewed, revised and/or modified from time to time
as the exigencies may arise during the period of implementation.
For the moment, however, this document sets the mechanism,
the principal guidelines and objectives that shall be observed
by all working agencies in the municipality.
We have set our path towards peace, progress and prosperity,
for the next five years. Let us, therefore, strengthen further
the tie that binds our hearts and hands together in working,
planning and implementing to make our beloved town of Alaminos
a place of contentment and a progressive City tomorrow.
