The Hundred Islands known as Hundred Precious Gems
is one of the top Philippine Countryside attraction. This intriguing
cluster of islets is scattered along the coast of Barangay Lucap,
about 4 kms. from the town proper. There are over a hundred of these
islands and islets, coral bases mostly without useful vegetation.
Local and foreign tourist flock to this park to see its natural
beauty, primeval caves and white beaches. Some of the islands have
been named in honor of some national as well as local officials
like, Quezon Island, Marcos Island, Camantiles Island, Governors
Island, Childrens Island and Imelda Island. Childrens
Island, Governors Island and Quezon Islands offer room accommodation
for picnickers. They have Bahay Kubo for budget travelers and Governors
Islands guests house for VIP with complete facilities.
The island is accessible by all kinds of water transportation.
It is about 30 mins. ride by boat from Lucap bay. The frequency
of travel from Lucap to the Islands depends on the availability
/sufficiency of tourist going to the Islands. There is also a helipad
on top of the Quezon Island. The Governors rest house and
3 cottages which are made of concrete and light materials respectively
are also available for local as well as foreign tourist, but above
all there is no existing communication, water and power facilities
in the Islands.
Nature has endowed the Hundred Islands with a deep blue waters
moving with colors as far as the eye can see. The groups of islands
vary in color green to golden brown on the days weather and
time of the day. Small waves move gently to kiss the soft sand of
the islands beaches. Wonderful caves, small and big alike, await
the visit of thousand of adventures.
The calm crystal water is ideal for scuba diving, hook and line,
spear fishing, skiing, bathing and for deep viewing of the marine
gardens in the multi-colored natural rock formations of the thousand
species of fish clustering in open natural aquariums.
There are existing hotel accommodations in barangay Lucap, the
jump-off point to the Hundred Islands. Some hotels have air-conditioned
rooms equipped with best lodging facilities such as well sanitized
comfort and bath rooms, they offer good foods mostly seafoods.

Reasonably priced boats are available for stand hoping, fishing
and scuba diving. Rest houses and cottages on the larger islands
picnickers and campers.
Alaminos is about 5 hours from Manila and two hours from Dagupan
City. The number of tourist coming to visit this spot is increasing.
Data gathered from the Philippine Tourism Authority shows that the
number of tourist who visited Alaminos from 1998 to 1999 is 186,232,
(see Table
49).
The average number of tourist going to the islands based on the
gathered data is 268.51 daily. Majority of whom are local tourists.
There are several areas which could be developed as tourist spots
aside from the Hundred Islands, namely: Alo Island, One Island,
Camantiles Island, White Beaches of barangay Victoria, Telbang and
Pandan.
The Alo Island is located between the municipalities of Alaminos
and Anda, Pangasinan. It has a total land area of 9.709 hectares.
It can be reached by boat in 10 to 15 minutes at anytime of the
day. It is a flat terrain, which is more or less 2 meters above
sea level. During the low tide, you can see its white sand and beaches.
Several years ago, Philippine Tourism Authority attempted to develop
the island by constructing a guesthouse with complete facilities
including security guards to maintain the security of tourist visitors
and others in the island.
Bolo-Telbang-Victoria White Beaches are located at barangays Pandan,
Telbang and Victoria northeast of the town proper. Its white beach
has a total area of 5.830 hectares more or less. It is accessible
by boat and by land in 40 and 30 minutes respectively. The beaches
of Bolo and Telbang are planted with coconut.
Camantiles Beach is also located in barangay Pandan. It is more
or less 200 meters. At the southern part of the beach is a flat
terrain with an area of more or less 5,000 sq. meters where cottages
may be constructed on it to accommodate tourist. In like manner,
it is accessible by boat and by land transportation.
Victoria White Beach/One Island. The Victoria White Beach where
One Island is located in barangay Victoria on the eastern part of
the municipality. The beach is more or less 2 kms. long and the
One Island is about 2,258 sq. meters. It is accessible by boat and
land transportation in 50 and 40 minutes respectively.
Today, the above-mentioned areas are visited by tourist, picnickers/campers
especially during summer.
ISSUES/PROBLEMS
There are no water, power and communication facilities in the Islands.
There are no adequate recreational, eateries, comfort rooms, cottages,
bathhouses and picnic grounds in all the tourism areas above-mentioned.

DEVELOPMENT NEEDS/PROROPOSALS
There is a need to provide water, communication and power facilities
in the 100 Islands.
There is a need to develop the Alo Island, Camantiles Island (within
HINP),white beaches of Telbang & Victoria; such as the construction
of hotels, restaurant/eateries, bathrooms, picnic grooves/shades
and the likes.
There is a need to formulate a tourism master plan of the HINP
so that its inclusion as one of the project within the growth area
of the North Luzon Growth Quadrangle and in the 10-year mater plan
of the Lingayen Gulf Coastal Area Management Commission will materialized.
There is a need to demarcate with buoys the boundary between the
HINP and the Municipal Water of Alaminos.
There is a need to relocate all the squatters within the HINP to
designated relocation area.
There is a need to formulate policy to be observed by would-be
investors within the HINP.
GOALS
To enhance the development of the Hundred Islands National Park
which is within the growth area of the Northwest Luzon Growth Quadrangle
and all other tourist potentials in the municipality.
OBJECTIVES
Concreting of 12 kilometers road from Poblacion to the tourism
areas (Pandan, Telbang & Victoria) within the planning period.
Construction of tourist facilities such as hotels, cottages, recreational
houses, bathrooms in the above-mentioned tourist spots within the
planning period.
Electrification of these areas by the Pangasinan Electric Cooperative
within the planning period.
Alaminos Water District provides efficient water facilities in
these areas within the planning period.
Increase the income of these establishments (at Lucap Bay) P10,000
and lure 50-100 additional tourist personnel monthly.
PROGRAMS/PROJECTS
Asphalting/concreting of roads going to tourism areas such as Poblacion
Victoria roadline.
Construction of tourism facilities such as eateries, picnic ground,
swimming pools, cottages, hotels, light and water and other facilities.
Installation of communication facilities in the Hundred Islands,
Alo Islands, One Island.
Electrification of the tourism areas, such as Hundred Islands,
One Island and Alo Island.
Installation of water facilities at Alo Island and One Island.
Asphalting/cementing of road going to sitio Bolo, Pandan.
Concreting of barangay bridge connecting Telbang and Pandan.
