August 9, 2002, Casa Filipina, Covina - Approximately 50
people welcomed Mayor "Dong" Fontelera to the USA.
Various Alaminos associations in the Los Angeles area, such
as Alaminos Pangasinan Association of Southern California
(APASCA), Alaminos Pangasinan Association of the USA (APAUSA),
San Vicente Alaminos Association of California (SVAAC), United
High School Association of Alaminos Pangasinan World Wide
(UHSAAPWW) and the Pangasinan Brotherhood Association, were
there.
The groups joined forces to host a buffet dinner in honor
of the Mayor and his family. The Mayor gave a presentation
of the City events and the association presidents gave the
mayor gifts
Afterwards, most of the people stayed for karaoke.

August 10, 2002, Marine Corps Air Station, Officers Club,
San Diego - Mayor Fontelera attended the Alaminos City Association
of San Diego County (ACASDC) Induction and Dinner Ball.
Congressman Bob Filner and various San Diego city officials
welcomed Mayor Fontelera and his family.
The other Alaminos association represented were Alos Association,
headed by President Helen Quintanilla; San Vicente Alaminos
Association of California (SVAAC) led by President Marcial
Cabatic; the Alaminos High School Alumni Association International
(AHSAAI) and Lucap Association headed both by Dr. Jimmy Boton.
Not contented with visiting with the Mayor the night before
many of the L.A. Alaminians also attend the San Diego event.
Over 180 Alaminians and guests enjoyed the sumptuous dinner
and dancing. Guest Speaker Mayor Fontelera gave a "State
of Alaminos City" speech and presentation, afterwhich
he inducted the newly elected ACASDC officers.

August 11, 2002, Mira Mesa Recreational Center, San Diego
- About 100 ACASDC and AHSAAI members held a picnic for Mayor
Fontelera and his family to cap off their visit to the San
Diego area.
Next on the Mayor's schedule is West Sacramento on August
14, 2002, where he will be attending a special session of
the City Council to the discuss a sister cityhood relationship
between the two cities.
The following day he is scheduled to meet with Yolo County
Officials.

August 14, 2002, West Sacramento City Council Session - After
Mayor Fontelera was introduced by Bill Resendez to the Council
Members, City Mayor William G. Kristoff presented a Mayor's
Proclamation welcoming Mayor Fontelera to the city and the
United States. Council Member Mark P. Montemayor presented
Mayor Fontelera with gifts from the city to be display in
Alaminos' City Hall and finally Council Member Christopher
L. Cabaldon presented him a KEY TO THE CITY.

A Sister Cityhood Relationship between the two cities will
push through. The signing of the agreement is tenatively scheduled
for November after all requirements are met.
August 15, 2002, Resendez' Home - The dinner prepared by
Billy's wife, Narcisa, was a Filipino-Mexican-American combination
which included California Steak, tamale, empanada, dinardaraan,
lumpiang shanhai, pancit, green salad, macaroni salad, fruit
salad, leche flan, and all the trimmings. Good time was had
by all!
With the business end of his trip completed, the Mayor will
spend a few days in New Jersey to visit with other family
members, then back to L.A. to catch his return flight back
home.
