Hi Jerry, thanks for your quick response...of course, we agree
to your suggestion! Thank you very much for all your help.
As I said in my note, even if we dont get to use all the material
in the book, I think that it would be great for all us Alaminians
to share our recollections with each other....perhaps if there is
enough response, someone can even decide to do a separate book just
on Alaminos!

Subject: Message from the Family of the Late Dean Jeremias U. Montemayor
To all "Anak na Alaminos" (both current residents and
those who are living elsewhere):
First of all, our family would like to thank all of you again for
condoling with us in sharing with our grief at the passing of our
Papa, the late Dean Jeremias U. Montemayor. We deeply appreciate
it and are eternally grateful.
We are also very touched that the people of Alaminos even featured
a tribute to our Papa in the Alaminos City website.
At the time of his death, our Papa was in the middle of writing
his autobiography which he had entitled "How Rich is my Journey".
We, his children, have resolved to complete his unfinished story
if only because we believe that it is something worth telling and
sharing with others. While it will be primarily about our Papa,
it will also cover the history of the Federation of Free Farmers
(FFF)/Federation of Free Farmer's Cooperatives, Inc. (FFCI) and,
hopefully, include a "mini-history" of Alaminos, Pangasinan.
We hope to complete it in time for the 50th anniversary of the FFF
in October, 2003.
We would like to invite all of you who are interested to help us
in this endeavor.
We plan to structure the book in such as way that it would contain
direct quotations from people who knew him or who knew of issues
and topics that were important to him (though some editing might
be necessary as well...of course, we may also be unable to include
in the book all the inputs we receive although I suppose that it
could become a separate project later on).
As a fellow townmate, you probably have important/interesting insights,
recollections, anecdotes and experiences that we can use in the
book. We would be extremely grateful if you can share these with
us. Below are some subjects and topics which we suggest that you
think about. However, please do feel free to add any other topic
or item which you think might be useful, important or that you would
want to comment on. Please make sure that you give a timeline on
all the experiences that you will share.
Alaminos.
Any interesting anecdote, story or recollection on "how life
was" in Alaminos, Pangsainan (and in Pangasinan, in general),
the town, its culture, its people, etc. during our Papa's early
years (1920-1950).
Our Papa.
Information about yourself and brief history of your relationship
with our Papa (if any). Any interesting anecdote story or recollection
about our Papa. For example, his character and personality; Experiences
during his Assemblyman years in the late 1970's/early 1980's when
he represented Pangasinan; How was our Papa as a "politician",
his style and approach?, Etc.
I would appreciate it very much if you can send me your inputs
via email or surface mail (please see contact details below). I
currently live in Japan but would be coming home towards the end
of this year and will devote my full time to this project.
Thank you very much for your patience and invaluable assistance.
Sincerely,
ANTONIO "TONY" Q. MONTEMAYOR

Aloha, Thank you for sharing the site. It's very informative. Hope
to share some business ad soon. Anyway, I had the pleasure of meeting
your BM, Mr. Danny Dizon last month. Atty. Juan Amor, BM Ariel Deguzman
and BM Dizon was here to sign the Sisterhood agreement between Pangasinan
and Hawaii. Hopefully, we will be there in November 2002 to seal
this agreement. Aloha,

Thanks Jerry!
Ive visited the site and voila
ELA auto supply
is there!
You know, you should have somebody to take care of your marketing.
You are a pioneer in this field and just a little skill in convincing
prospective customers your yellow pages will take a boom.
Again, thanks, keep it up and more good luck

Importance: High
Greetings Fiel,
I deeply apologize for not posting your request sooner and
it will be my prime objective tomorrow.
This past month has been hectic for me, with the migration
to two different servers, the testing of our new forum board,
and helping the Mayor schedule his U.S. trip and prepare his
presentation materials for the trip. Boy, what a rush, but the
Mayor left for Manila tonight and the elections are over and
I can take a break.
But I will use my break to fulfill your request!!!
Thank you for your appreciation and hopefully understand. The
ac.c project is definitely an undertaking!
Sincerely,
The mailman.

I am a regular visitor of your website. In fact, my name is on
the white pages.
Two weeks ago I emailed you asking how to post our business
(ELA Auto Supply) on the yellow pages. Yet, I havent received
a reply from you. Could you please help me with this?
Ive seen your white pages developed and suggested by my colleague,
Paul Ruiz. He was my classmate in elementary. We both work in Saudi
Aramco but we are in different area.
You deserve to be appreciated for what you are doing to Alaminos
City. Keep it up and hope to see you on my vacation!

To the Webmaster of Alaminoscity.com:
Thank you for your email of Aug. 4, 2002. It was a pleasant surprise
to discover your wonderful work on Alaminos City. It covers several
areas of interest and history of which I have not learned about
up to this writing. I have been living in the States for about 21
years now and your website just brought back beautiful memories
about my life in Alaminos. Most of my time in Alaminos was spent
in Lucap where I assisted my father, the late Dr. Monico C. Calma
in the now defunct University of Pangasinan Fishery School (Formerly
known as the Pangasinan Fishery School). Because of my experiences
in Alaminos, particularly in Lucap, I am proud to say that I am
a better person today.
I have learned about some of the Philippines' most precious marine
flora and fauna, part of which were preserved and kept at the Don
Manuel Lichauco Museum which was housed at the school. For example,
we had vertebras of a whale shark and a jar of Pandaca Pygmea (the
largest and smallest fish in the world respectively). As an assistant
Curator, I also had the privilege of meeting numerous visitors from
other countries. They too have learned not only about marine biology
but about Alaminos and her natural resources.
During late afternoons, I had the chance in hearing my father explain
the sketches on the wall of the Oceanographic Research Building
and watch the sun set at the same time. When the late Mr. Guillermo
Ablan, also a Co-Founder of the Pangasinan Fishery School, comes
for a visit, they would both study the drawings. The illustration
on the wall showed part of the existing pantalan, the "boulevard",
a semi-circle positoned east of the "pantalan" and proposed
bridges. Being around the founders of the school back then was very
interesting to me. They discussed theories and principles about
marine life including the possible formation of the Hundred Islands.
If you go to Lucap today, you'll notice the the fishponds where
they used to culture Siganids(Siganidae) and milk fish (Chanos-Chanos).
I have noticed during my last visit this year that some of these
ponds were filled with dirt to accommodate new structures and projects
for the growing city. Yes, things have changed in Alaminos, not
to mention a McDonald. Having read about the proposal for further
developments, ie. a mall is definitely very interesting. Hopefully,
it will improve the physical appearance of the town, bring in more
local and foreign tourist and create more jobs for Alaminians.
Your creation of a website for Alaminos will bring positive response
and consequences for the city. It will be a meeting place for Alaminians
locally as well as internationally. Thank you for your wonderful
job and best wishes!

Subject: Re: How to add a business in the yellow pages listing
Hello,
I am glad you are back up, it is now a routine for me to check
your website everyday just to see if there's something new. I can't
tell you how happy I am that this website exist. This is such a
nice service you are providing for us who are away from home.
I do need a favor from you. I would like to add my parents business
in your yellow pages listing. They have a driving school in Palamis,
it is called Road Master Driving School and the phone number is
551-2457. If you can add this in your listing maybe it will generate
a little business for my folks, I will really appreciate it. If
you have any questions, you can contact me or my folks. My mom runs
the business and her name is Naty Rabanal, my dad's name is Emeterio.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
